Niranjan ‘Tex’ Kissoon

Tex Kissoon is the current President of the Global Sepsis Alliance and a Professor at BC Children’s Hospital and UBC Global Child Health, Department of Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine University of British Columbia. He is Past President of the World Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Societies (WFPICCS); Professor, Pediatric and Surgery at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. Tex holds the UBC BC Children’s Hospital Endowed Chair in Acute and Critical Care for Global Child Health, International Pediatric Sepsis Initiative, and the Pediatric Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guideline Committee.

In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded the 2013 Distinguished Career Award by the AAP for his contribution to society and discipline; in 2015 he was awarded the SCCM Master of Critical Care Medicine Award and the BNS Walia PGIMER Golden Jubilee Oration Award in India. In 2016, Tex received the UBC Canada Distinguished Achievement Award for Overall Excellence and in 2019, he has for the 8th time received a Presidential Citation from the Society of Critical Care Medicine for outstanding contributions to the Society. In 2018, he received the UWI Distinguished Service Award and is also the Recipient of the 2020 Drs. Vidyasagar and Nagamani Dharmapuri Award presented by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) for exemplary and pioneering achievements in the care of critically ill and injured infants and children.

Als Anerkennung für seine Leistungen wurde ihm von der AAP der Distinguished Career Award 2013 für seinen Beitrag zu Gesellschaft und Disziplin verliehen. 2015 wurde er in Indien mit dem SCCM Master of Critical Care Medicine Award und dem BNS Walia PGIMER Golden Jubilee Oration Award ausgezeichnet. Im Jahr 2016 erhielt Tex den UBC Canada Distinguished Achievement Award für Gesamtexzellenz und im Jahr 2019 erhielt er zum achten Mal eine Auszeichnung des Präsidenten der Society of Critical Care Medicine für herausragende Beiträge zur Gesellschaft. Im Jahr 2018 erhielt er den UWI Distinguished Service Award und ist außerdem Empfänger des Drs. 2020. Vidyasagar- und Nagamani-Dharmapuri-Preis, verliehen von der Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) für beispielhafte und bahnbrechende Leistungen in der Pflege schwerkranker und verletzter Säuglinge und Kinder.
